From 26 to 28 March 2025, the ‘2025 Shanghai Automotive Powertrain Technology Exhibition’, guided by the Shanghai International Automobile City and organised by the ATC Automotive Technology Platform, was held in grand style at the Shanghai Automotive Exhibition Centre. As a leading enterprise in the new energy vehicle drive sector, Zhejiang Oswell Electric Technology Co., Ltd. made a major appearance with its three core product lines, sharing the stage with over 300 industry leaders such as Seres Power, ZF and Huichuan, to contribute to the future development of new energy vehicle powertrain systems.
With ‘New Energy Electric Drive, Hybrid and Batteries’ as its core themes, this year’s exhibition attracted tens of thousands of industry experts, technical engineers and buyers. Oswell constructed its technology exhibition area around a portfolio of three cutting-edge products:
The flat-wire stator, with its high slot fill rate and low-loss characteristics, demonstrated Oswell’s precision craftsmanship in core motor components; the 200kW three-in-one powertrain, through its highly integrated design, seamlessly combines the motor, electronic control unit and gearbox to meet the dual demands of power and energy efficiency for high-performance vehicles; whilst the two-in-one powertrain system, with its lightweight and modular advantages, offers flexible adaptation solutions for the commercial vehicle and mid-range passenger car markets.
Visitors frequently enquired about the products’ actual test data and technical details; Oswell’s technical team addressed clients’ technical concerns regarding system matching and reliability verification on the spot through professional methods such as data comparison and fault analysis. The company welcomed over 3,000 professional visitors and generated more than 200 viable business opportunities.
The exhibition served not only as a showcase for products but also as a ‘resonance field’ for industry trends. Through exchanges with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), supply chain partners and academic institutions, Oswell Co., Ltd. identified three key strategic themes:
1. Modular Architecture to Address Diversifying Scenarios
On the demand side, commercial vehicles prioritise cost reduction and durability, whilst passenger cars are segmented (high-end 800V high-voltage systems versus mainstream energy-efficiency optimisation), compelling the industry to build scalable platforms. Leading solutions utilise modular design to cover both 400V and 800V system voltages, reducing development cycles by over 40 per cent, with preliminary research into electromagnetic compatibility emerging as a key technical hurdle.
2. Cross-domain collaboration in thermal management reshapes value
The industry is shifting from component-level cooling to holistic thermal source management. Motor waste heat recovery and battery preheating enhance winter range, whilst IGBT-air conditioning coordination reduces energy consumption. Technical breakthroughs focus on intelligent heat pump systems and dynamic multi-physics field allocation, with system-level control algorithms proving pivotal to overcoming challenges.
3. Upgraded Dual-Track Functional Safety Verification
Level 4 autonomous driving is driving a new paradigm for ASIL-D subsystem decomposition, with innovation across three layers—hardware, software and ecosystem—including heterogeneous computing architectures, adaptive diagnostic algorithms and a three-tier verification system. SOTIF integrated verification has emerged as a new competitive frontier.
This exhibition serves not only as a showcase for products but also as a platform for in-depth dialogue within the industry ecosystem. As the new energy vehicle market shifts from being policy-driven to demand-driven, user expectations of powertrain systems have evolved from ‘meeting basic performance standards’ to ‘ultimate experience and differentiated value’. Consequently, Oswell Co., Ltd. plans to further strengthen joint development with vehicle manufacturers, directly integrating end-user scenario-based requirements (such as stability in low-temperature environments and adaptability to complex road conditions) into the R&D closed-loop. At the same time, leveraging its electric drive system headquarters base currently under construction, the company aims to accelerate its capabilities in large-scale production and customised services.
As a ‘flagship exhibition’ in the automotive OEM sector, the 2025 Shanghai Automotive Powertrain Exhibition not only brought together the world’s leading technologies but also served as a strategic vantage point for companies to chart their course and break through homogenised competition. Through its participation in this exhibition, Oswell Co., Ltd. has not only consolidated its industry status as one of ‘China’s Top 100 Powertrain Enterprises’, but has also conveyed to the industry its firm belief in ‘driving a win-win ecosystem through innovation’ through its technical prowess and market acumen. On the new race track of new energy vehicles, Oswell Co., Ltd. is actively engaging with partners to shape the future of smart mobility.
